About Diane Robinson

Diane was born in the English Midlands the eighth of nine children and grew up on the family dairy farm. After finishing school she completed an agricultural apprenticeship and National Certificate in Agriculture at Warwickshire College of Agriculture. In 1985 Diane fulfilled a long dream of visiting Australia, with a 12-month working visa, she arrived in Gippsland looking for work on dairy farms. This is where she met Ross who became her husband; together they built up his family's dairy farm into one that was classed as a front-runner in the district. During this time Diane undertook training that sure her graduate in an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture from Melbourne University.

Unable to find help to work through the difficult emotional and communication areas of succession, Diane returned to education to gain a Diploma in Professional Counseling; Majoring in Relationships, Family and Workplace Counseling, also training in Family Business Facilitation conducted by Lyn Sykes, a proven way of promoting respectful communication within families.

Diane believes that it is the people within a family business who are the key to the success and that communication between family members is the major cause of family breakdown.

With her many years experience in Agriculture both in England and Australia and her understanding of people and relationships Diane is uniquely able to help Rural Families through the many difficulties they face today.

Diane is passionate about Agriculture and the importance of preserving family farms and rural communities. She believes farming families themselves hold the key to whether their business will survive into the next generation. More important is that family relationships are maintained, if all members of a family business feel secure, happy and appreciated within the family business, this often prevents the immense stress of family breakdown.

Working with families who are proactively moving toward the future is a pleasure.
